So, How Are Mushrooms Cultivated?
Much of the mushroom growing cycle is carried out in completely sterile conditions and growing environments. Bloomush cultures all of their mushroom spawn from cloned-tissue samples or their own spore isolated mycelial networks. Doing so weekly to ensure vigor and consistent fruits.
Sterile Lab Conditions
We make all of our mushroom spawn weekly here in our lab under sterile conditions using choice local organic grains and amendments. Working closely with our own spore isolates and cloned tissue cultures we have access to a vast library of various mushrooms genetics and different species. Some native to our area and others more exotic.
Hygienic Grow Rooms
Most of our mushrooms are grown indoors, in climate controlled and fully automated growing rooms. Humidity, temperature and air conditions are constantly monitored and adjusted to ensure the healthiest growing environment for each variety of mushroom we may be growing. The advantages of growing indoors allows us to produce mushrooms year round with consistent quality and scheduled harvests. Routinely cleaning out our grow rooms with an H2o2 based mixture, while using stainless steel shelving and a sealed fruiting environment ensures the cleanest mushrooms possible.
All mushrooms are picked by certified ServSafe food handlers, then immediately cooled to an ideal holding temperature. Harvests are scheduled to happen 12-16 hours in advance of market times. Mushrooms that are to be dried are done so directly after harvest to ensure the best quality, longest lasting dehydrated products.
